Below is a summary list of rotations and projections for the 2007 - 2008 academic year. |

July 2008
Amy Kravitz, M.D., will be traveled to Ecuador to determine HIV sero-prevalence within the general adult population in four general regions of the country. |

Chris Dodd, M.D., started working with Shelly Baer, LCSW, social worker for the C.O.A.C.H. study, to develop a resource brochure to give to University of Miami medical students and residents. |

Toni Eyssallenne, M.D., PhD, traveled to Cap Haitian, Haiti to do a needs assessment of the state-funded and NGO-funded hospitals in the region. |

Amy Kravitz, M.D. traveled to Indonesia as a part of the Yale Johnson & Johnson scholarship award she received.
Christopher Dodd, M.D. took part in the Community Health Worker training for our Overtown C.O.A.C.H initiative with Boston PACT group and Collins Center program. |

Stephen Symes M.D. traveled to Cap Haitian to explore a collaborative proposal to obtain funding from the Global Fund to initiate TB dianostics and MDR treatment in the northern region of Haiti. Collaborative arrangements were made with Justinien Hospital Ministry of Health, and Mass DOH State Lab. And a proposal was made to set up an Ethics council in Justinien Hospital to support this and other collaborative initiatives. |

Anne Monroe, M.D. and Tai Hunte, M.D. R-3 Residents traveled to Lima, Peru to explore research projects with PIH and Cayetano University in Leishmaniasis to disseminate the cervical self-sampling device with community health workers in Lima and rural parts of Peru. |

November 2007
Amy Kravitz, M.D., Christopher Dodd, M.D. and Antonia Eyssallene, M.D., PhD. R-2 residents traveled to Rajesthan India, Kalpurnam General Hospital, where they worked with on-site practitioners in Medicine, Pediatrics and Ob - Gyn, with exposure to Infectious diseases, chronic illnesses and preventative screening. Trip allowed residents to see outreach efforts including the Community Health worker model in a Rural area and see how these function to enable acess to a center of excellence. Residents also assessed the site to review this center for opportunities for future collaborative efforts.

Anne Monroe, M.D. and Tai Hunte, M.D., R-3 Residents traveled to Lima, Peru to visit Partners in Health community health worker program in HIV, TB and chronic disease management. They visited the laboratories of David Moore, M.D. and others who pioneered technology to cheaply and effectively diagnose multi-drug resistant TB, an innovation that can be disseminated worldwide. |

August 2007
Christopher Dodd, M.D. R-2 resident traveled to Tblisi, Georgia with Kathy Hebert, M.D. MPH – Division of Cardiology. During their stay they established a CHF Disease Management program in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, and also initiated a Smoking Cessation Survey of Health professionals at several sites with the ultimate goal of developing a smoking cessation program. Amy Kravitz, M.D. traveled to Boston, MA with Toye Brewer, M.D. to observe P.A.C.T. community health worker model.
