She was awarded the 2007 AAD Program in Innovative Continuing Medical Innovation in Dermatology for interactive lectures by UM dermatologists to academic centers, hospitals and remote medical sites in Latin America, Alaska, Hawaii and Guam using videoconferencing.

As Associate Dean for TeleHealth and Clinical Outreach, Dr. Burdick is leading UM’s expansion of its telehealth services and infrastructure to extend its reach and clinical service offerings in the US and internationally. Her vision is that telehealth will correct maldistribution of medical expertise and inefficiencies of today’s health care system, ensuring that care is provided where and when needed.
